Booklet Description

This booklet provides a capsule summary of the most important sections of the Persons with Disabilities Rights and Protection Act, 2013 in a small, easy-to-carry publication. It describes how what disabilities are covered by the Act, how to obtain disability identification cards, the enumerated rights recognized by the Act, the five committees created by the Act, and the process for filing applications for compensation for violations of the enumerated rights under Section 36 of the Act.

Usage Guidelines

You can use this booklet to ensure that training and awareness-raising event participants have an easily accessible source of summary information about the Act that they can take with them wherever they go. This resource is an important resource for participants to use to refresh themselves about the contents of your training or awareness-raising events, and all your staff and allies should become very familiar with its contents in order to become resource persons for the community your DPO serves.
